Friday, October 31st- Halloween party in the afternoon. You may bring your costume to school with you on Friday. We will change after lunch.
Monday, November 3rd- The 3rd grade earned a tag day for their participation in First in Math. We have increased our stickers by 92% since September!
Tuesday, November 4rd- All Saints Day Mass. Please make sure your child is finishing his/her project, shield and costume. All students should practice reading their report at home. Students will speaking parts during the mass should be practicing their parts as well. Please come to school dressed in your costume and arrive as early as possible. We will be leaving the classroom at 7:55am.

Weekly Multiplication Quiz
Every Wednesday Ms. Kornobis' math class will be taking a multiplication quiz. The quiz will be testing specific facts and students will be answering the following questions for a given multiplication sentence.
1. Draw an array
2. Draw equal groups
3. Write a repeated addition sentence
4. Write a new multiplication sentence using the Commutative Property of Multiplication
5. Write a multiplication story.
We have been practicing answering these questions in math class. The students wrote down an example problem today (9/8) in their notebooks to be used as reference/study tool.
The first quiz on Wednesday, September 10th will be on the 2 times tables.

- Practice working with cardinal and intermediate directions by completing the second side of the worksheet I handed out on Wednesday. You should be able to find this worksheet tucked inside your textbook.
- Please set up your vocabulary cards for the bold and highlighted words in Lesson 2 of the textbook. This means you should split each of the cards up into the 4 different sections, and put the new vocabulary words on each card. You can get a head start by copying the definitions of each of these words, but you do not need to give an example or draw a picture until we work with them together in class.
4. Phonics-
- Complete pages 115 and 116.
- On these pages you will learn about the suffixes -ion, -ment, -en, -able, and -ible.
- Make sure you read the rules on each page before you begin working.
5. Additional Assignments-
- Work on Mr. Popper's Penguins Project
- Read for at least 20 minutes
- Practice multiplication flashcards
- Create Valentines for loved ones. Bonus- try creating a heart shaped card with a vertical line of symmetry. Can you decorate the card so that both sides match?
